Table Tops

I haven't divulged much about my plans for decorations because its all very abstract right now. I am planning on DIY most of the decorations, but I haven't really even started most projects. I have some supplies and one trial run, but I don't have the space to make and store all of the projects. Besides, all my crafting abilities are currently going to crocheting and sewing projects.

But I really want to share some of the projects I am currently planning. We can find out together if I'm actually able to accomplish them and how they turn out. The first is the head table decorations.
I love the delicate cascades of pearls on this table. I might add a flower or two just to sit their like the picture above. I like that the decorations aren't overwhelming. I hope that this will make the head table approachable so anyone can come up and talk to us. I have bought the bigger peals and nylon cord, and I gave it a try. I failed, but I think it might go better if I used tools to tie the nylon cord. I'll let you know how it goes when I try again.

The center pieces are really abstract, and I'm sorry if its hard to visualize from my descriptions. Here it goes...

First take a glass bowl

Etch table numbers on bowl.

Fill bowl with water and three ivory to champagne colored floating candles.
Possibly add some green i.e. leaf, sea pebbles, or leaf with ivory flower. I'm still debating on this.
Finally surround bowl with circular fake branch with teardrop shaped peals at the ends. I know. You were probably with me until this last detail. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the home decor website that first inspired me (I've learned my lesson. Always bookmark!). The closest image I could find was this.
1. Change branches from green to brown. 2. Switch crystals with pearls. 3.Flip the branches so the pearls stick up instead of hanging down.

Still can't visualize? Your not the only one. I'm pretty sure Mr. Camrah thought I was crazy when I tried to explain this project. I'm pretty sure I got the, "That sounds nice?" tone of voice.

Lucky for you the one part of the centerpieces I have tried out is the pearl branches, but you will have to wait to find out how they turned out.

Did you get any ideas from non-wedding places or items? Did anyone question your ideas because they couldn't visualize them?
