24 on, 24 off
Last night I had a 24hr shift at work. Which means I had the next 24hrs off. How did I spent this time off during normal business hours? First I slept until 1:30pm (I can sleep at work during 24hr shifts, but its never quality sleep). Then I got ready for my afternoon of wedding errands! Errands don't sound exciting to you? Well first on the old errands list was my veil.I mentioned in an earlier post that I want to wear a drop veil. I've had my heart set on a drop veil for a while. They are simply elegant. I was originally thinking that i would buy some tulle from the fabric store and make my own. I want a simple circular, elbow length veil with the possibility for edging. While this doesn't sound incredibly hard, I reconsidered the DIY route. I started thinking I probably wouldn't be able to cut the edge perfectly even. I decided to research a few online shops that were selling drop veils and received a color sample from veilshop.com last week.

Their sample swatches are $5, and they give you a $5 gift certificate for a veil (AKA free with veil purchase!). I took the sample into my bridal shop today to compare it to my dress's store counterpart (My dress is in their off-site storage=inaccessible). Unfortunately, they no longer had my sample dress. :( They brought me the closest dress they could find. It was an ivory, lace Mori Lee. They said it might be a little different from my dress since it was an eyelet, but it should work. I compared the swatches with the dress and got...

Champagne was one of the colors I was considering after comparing the swatches to my dress pictures. I'm just going to go for it and see if it matches. I'm lucky because I have a lot of neutral colors in my wedding. So, even if the veil color doesn't perfectly match my dress, it will match our overall wedding look. After that I decided to get coffee. It was after 3pm by this point, and I needed caffeine STAT. (I hadn't had any since 8am the morning before.)

For posterity, or because I forgot my book and was bored. A picture of me on the bus with my coffee. Coffee and public transportation. How would I be able to life without either of you?Anyways, back to weddings! Next stop on my errands run. Joann's. I had to return envelops that were too big for our save the dates. Not that exciting? The next stop is sure to please. Which is why I'm leaving you with a cliff hanger. :)When did you find the time to get wedding errands checked off your wedding to do list?
