For the gift giving holidays, I usually get asked "What do you want for ______?" I say nothing and let him fend for himself most of the time, but this valentines day I actually had an idea. I decided to ask for perfume. Its a pretty generic v-day gift, but I also asked FI to pick it out with me. I'm planning for this scent to be my wedding day fragrance, and I didn't want him to hate it. So I needed him to judge the perfumes too.
We started out by going to Sephora. Where we found this

I knew that Sephora would be the easiest place to smell perfumes. (I'm not really a sales assistant kind of person. I'd rather not bother them with my indecision.) Daisy and Very Hollywood were the only two that smelled ok inside the store. Unfortunately I picked a pretty crowded Sephora, and we were having a hard time dissociating all the scents.
We moved on from there and went to a few other stores, but we ended up at Macy's. This time there was a sales assistant involved, but it was also a lot easier to get an idea of each perfume's personality. The winner from Macy's was
After Macy's we went back to Sephora to try on the two scents we found there. Then we had a snack to let the perfumes settle. The winner after the whole excursion was Parisienne by YSL. After it settled it had the nicest lingering soft floral scent. I wanted something feminine but not too sweet, and Parisienne seemed to be perfect. Its main scents are blackberry, damask rose, and sandalwood and is described as being a grand floral with a woody structure.
