Hoosier glass

I found out last Monday that wedding bee was a no go, again. It wasn't that big of a deal, but I wanted some time off from blogging (hence the empty week of blogging). It was nice to not have to think about the next post for a while. Until yesterday when I came up with a great idea.

I have liked the above table setting for a while now. Its in our colors and just look at the green vase. It is such a great color, but I had no idea how to actually pull this off. I felt that a green vase at every table would be over kill. I have also been trying to stay as far away from flower centerpieces as possible. So, it went with the great but unusable ideas.

Then I had an epiphany. I could use hoosier glass.
Its the perfect color! The idea is to get 5 vases and 2 bowls. These pieces will be spread out between the 10-15 tables. The other tables will have my original idea for our centerpieces. The two bowls will be filled with floating candles (similar to the other centerpiece). The green bowls I found are slightly smaller then the other floating candle bowls so they may require a few votive candles around them.

The 5 vases will be filled with the bridesmaids and my bouquet with a few votive candles around each vase. These bouquets will be doing a perfect double duty. Because the bouquets are just going to be put down during the reception anyway. Why not display them? Of course the bridesmaids will be able to take their bouquet at the end of the night and one of the vases (if they want to).

I'm so excited for these touches of green. I was a little worried about the lack of green in our decor, but I'm pretty sure this will liven things up! (Plus its a great glass addition.)

What do you think of the added green touches? Does anyone think it will be too much?
